What a week we’ve had! Did you sense God saying hello, calling your name in thunder rolls, lightning zigzags, and tender rain? Burrowing deep beneath your bed-covers in the cozy hours between midnight and dawn, did your heart rejoice as celestial flashes and crashes demonstrated God’s awesome majesty? Did you nestle reverently, listening to rain pattering on roof shingles while the Holy Spirit refreshed your intellect with wisdom and understanding? Like David, did you want to shout: “Honor the Lord! Honor the Lord for His glory and strength. Honor the Lord for the glory of His name. Worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness. . .
“The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea.
The God of glory thunders.
The Lord thunders over the mighty sea.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is majestic.
The voice of the Lord splits the mighty cedars;
The Lord shatters the cedars of (pick your favorite cedar grove).
He makes (the Rocky Mountains) skip like a calf;
He makes (Mount Denali) leap like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord strikes with bolts of lightning.
The voice of the Lord makes the barren wilderness quake;
The Lord shakes the wilderness (you name the wilderness)
The voice of the Lord twists mighty oaks
and strips the forests bare
In His Temple everyone shouts, ‘Glory!’
The Lord gives His people strength
The Lord blesses them with peace.” Psalm 29, NLT

“The Lord is King! He is robed in majesty.
Indeed, the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength.
The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.
Your throne, O Lord, has stood from time immemorial.
You are from the everlasting past.
The floods have risen up, O Lord.
The floods have roared like thunder;
the floods have lifted their pounding waves.
But mightier than the violent raging of the seas,
mightier than the breakers on the shore–
the Lord above is mightier than these!
Your royal laws cannot be changed.
Your reign, O Lord, is holy forever and ever.” Psalm 93
Let’s sing to the Lord, Forever Family! Let’s shout joyfully–so that others may also have hope–to the Rock of our salvation!
Your Keene Church Pastors
That spread the flowing seas abroad, and built the lofty skies.
I sing the wisdom that ordained the sun to rule the day;
The moon shines full at His command, and all the stars obey.
I sing the goodness of the Lord, who filled the earth with food,
Who formed the creatures through the Word, and then pronounced them good.
Lord, how Thy wonders are displayed, where’er I turn my eye,
If I survey the ground I tread, or gaze upon the sky.
There’s not a plant or flow’r below, but makes Thy glories known,
And clouds arise, and tempests blow, by order from Thy throne;
While all that borrows life from Thee is ever in Thy care;
And everywhere that we can be, Thou, God, art present there.
