Prayer’s palette

Are you an artist at heart? If you sat under a shady tree with a sketchbook, dapples of sunshine decorating your imagination, what colors would you select to illustrate your prayer experience? Would the Lord’s Prayer be a place to start? Which hues for your prayer portrait do these words suggest?

Father . . . Heaven . . . Holy . . . King . . . Wise . . .
Omnipotent . . . Omnipresent . . .Provider . . . Forgiving . . .
Guide. . . Deliverer . . . Powerful . . .

This is a big weekend at Chisholm Trail Academy: Homecoming! We praise God for our students and we give thanks for His providence during the amazing mission trip they took to the Dominican Republic during spring vacation! CTA students are quick to tell us of answered prayer!

Esther Sousa, a junior, says: “This year CTA joined with the SWAU Nursing Department to go to the Dominican Republic on a mission trip. There were a limited number of spots, based on whoever paid first. Thinking of the expense, I hid the desire to go until my friend Taylor W. could see through me, and she told me to pray about it. We prayed, and I went to the office with the check the next day. There were no spots left. I was so sad, but I prayed about it with my family and the next day they told me that there was a mistake with the counting and that I would be the last person to fill a spot. This mission trip ended up being a huge blessing in my life, and I am thankful for the opportunity that I had to go!”

Canaan O Steen, a senior, reports: “This spring break I went on a mission trip with CTA. Going to the Dominican Republic was a tremendous blessing for me. We volunteered at an orphanage and had multiple clinics. I raised enough money to go on the mission trip by hosting a vespers. I sang songs and spoke about what we were going to do on the trip. Through that vespers God blessed me with enough funds to go and experience helping others not only physically, but spiritually as well.”

“Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:9-10

In conclusion

Speaking of color, these are the jewels that Revelation 21 tells us God has chosen to build the New Jerusalem:

12 foundation stones of jasper, sapphire, agate, emerald,
sardonyx, carnelian, chrysolite,
beryl, topaz, chrysoprase, jacinth, amethyst;
walls of jasper; streets of pure gold like transparent glass;
each of the 12 gates a single pearl–
with God’s glory shining through all of it!

“I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there.” Revelation 21:22-25

Forever Family, God has prepared a place for you in the midst of all His glory, and He’s coming soon to take you home!
